Elizabeth June Triplett

Our sweet Elizabeth June Triplett was born on Tuesday, February 26, 2013 at 5:35 p.m. She was born on her due date (just like her mama!), she is very punctual! She weighed 6 lbs. 5 ounces. and was 19 inches long. My water broke at 3:30 a.m. Tuesday morning. I had just been up about 30 min before going to the bathroom and went back to bed when I felt that the bed was wet! (TMI, sorry, you might not want to read further) I told Drew that I thought my water had broke and to get a towel. He answered "ok" and went back to sleep. I then, quite loudly, said again, "MY WATER JUST BROKE, I NEED A TOWEL!!". He then got the message got me a towel and we got our stuff and left for the hospital.

My contractions didn't start for another couple of hours. I didn't get my epidural till mid morning. It felt great and I thought that was that and I would just coast through delivery, wrong! To make a long story short, the epidural would not take very well on my left side. It would last for about an hour or so then wear off. Eventually it became evident that it was not going to work and I would have to just deal with the pain. I remember at one point Drew and I looking at each other when we both realized I would have to do this without the epidural fully working. Thankfully, he and my mom gave me amazing support. I truely would not have been able to do it without them. Going through this made me love my husband so much more and made me so thankful for my mama!

Elizabeth was born at 5:35 p.m. and they placed her on my belly and then quickly took her away because her cord had been wrapped around her neck. Thankfully, she was fine and her daddy stayed right by her side the whole time. The whole experience was very surreal. I was in a lot of pain and pretty delirious for a couple hours. However, I couldn't believe this sweet baby was finally here and that we were a family of 3! We had prayed for a baby for a long time, and God blessed us with this sweet blessing.

I can't believe it has already been 3.5 weeks since she was born! SO much has happened since then. We are adjusting to life with a newborn. I am starting to feel like I am a sane person again. ( I was a little concerned there that I was going to be crazy emotional forever!) There are moments of frustration when we don't know how to help her and then moments of pure amazement as we look at this miracle that God has trusted us with. I feel like it sinks in a little more every day that this is our baby and that we are really parents! It's a little scary, but I know with God's guidance, we will be just fine. Thank you for all your prayers, comments, meals, cards etc. We have been overwhelmed with so many blessings from people! What a wonderful example of the hands and feet of Christ!

Sorry for such a long post, I am going to try and update this weekly so family and friends can keep up with sweet Elizabeth! Below are some pictures of our journey so far!

Love,
Andrew, Jenny, and Elizabeth
